1,000 kVA Standby Generator for Global Food Manufacturing Facility with YESSS

Project Overview

A globally recognised food manufacturing facility required a reliable standby power solution during a switchgear refurbishment after it was identified that the site had no backup power provision in place.

The Challenge

Operating 24/7, the facility could not afford any disruption to production. Installation works also involved routing cables beneath an active roadway while maintaining safe access for ongoing deliveries and site traffic.

The Solution

Lance Power supplied and installed a 1,000 kVA Baudouin diesel generator complete with a Leroy-Somer alternator, Deep Sea Electronics controller, and ABB circuit breakers. The system also included remote monitoring, dual water jacket heaters, and a 24-hour fuel tank for enhanced reliability.

Installation & Commissioning

Works were carefully phased and mainly completed over weekends to minimise disruption. Full testing, blackout simulations, and operator training were carried out to ensure seamless integration with the new switchgear system.

The Result

The facility now benefits from a robust standby power solution that protects production and improves business continuity during mains power failures, all delivered with minimal disruption to operations.

Integrated Diesel Backup Generator for Renewable Residential Property in the Isle of Man

Project Overview

Lance Power supplied a diesel backup generator for a large private residential property on the Isle of Man, working alongside YESSS Electrical and YESSS Renewables to support an existing solar and battery storage system.

The Challenge

The property required a reliable standby power solution to support the renewable energy system during prolonged outages or low solar generation. The generator also needed to be installed within an existing plant room, requiring careful exhaust and ventilation design.

The Solution

A 40 kVA diesel generator was supplied, featuring a water jacket heater, extended stainless steel exhaust system, and auxiliary power sockets. The system was designed to integrate seamlessly with the site’s solar panels and battery storage.

250kVA Diesel Generator Dispatched in 16 Hours for Critical Power Requirements

Project Overview

Lance Power responded to an urgent standby power requirement from YESSS Electrical by supplying and dispatching a 250kVA diesel generator in less than 16 hours.

The Challenge

The enquiry was received at 14:00 on a Thursday, with the customer requiring a fully operational standby generator at extremely short notice. The project demanded immediate availability, rapid preparation, full testing, and fast deployment to prevent disruption to site operations and minimise potential downtime.

The Solution

Thanks to Lance Power’s UK stock holding, a suitable 250kVA soundproof diesel generator was allocated immediately and prioritised for fast-track preparation. The generator supplied was powered by a Cummins 6LTAA 8.9-G2 engine and paired with a Leroy-Somer alternator and DSE7320 controller, delivering reliable and efficient standby power suitable for demanding applications. To meet the urgent deadline, engineers worked overnight carrying out full generator testing, commissioning checks, and pre-delivery inspections to ensure the unit met all operational and quality standards before dispatch.

The Result

By 07:30 the following morning, the generator was fully tested, inspected, and ready for collection, achieving a complete enquiry-to-dispatch turnaround in under 16 hours. The rapid deployment allowed the customer to maintain continuity and avoid costly downtime.
