FAQs

Why choose ceiling spotlights?

Ceiling spotlights are a popular choice to illuminate homes, offices and commercial spaces. As well offering a stylish light source they also provide directional lighting that can be adjusted depending on your needs or layout of your room.

For example, in the bathroom you can focus the light towards the mirrior, or towards worktops in a kitchen.

There are many different types of decorative spotlights to choose from. From a single spotlight to multiple beams and an array of finishes, dimming capabilities, and colour temperature options when it comes to choosing your bulb.

How many spotlights do I need?

For optimal lighting, it's best to use multiple spotlights spaced out every one metre in your ceiling area. To determine the number of spotlights needed for your home, we recommend that you divide the ceiling height by two to calculate the appropriate distance between each spotlight. For example, if your ceiling is 2.5m high, spacing the spotlights at 1.25m intervals would be ideal.

What type of fixture will I need to install my ceiling spotlights?

The type of fixture you choose will depend on the height of your ceiling and the amount of illumination required. For low ceilings, recessed or flush mount fixtures are an excellent option. For high ceilings, pendant or track lighting can provide more even light distribution.

Are ceiling spotlights energy-efficient?

Many of the spotlights in our range are compatible with LED bulbs. LED spotlights consume significantly less power compared to traditional incandescent or halogen bulbs, helping you to save on your energy bills. LED bulbs last much longer than traditional bulbs too, reducing the cost of regularly replacing your lights.

Are ceiling spotlights the same as downlights?

While the terms are often used interchangeably, the key difference is that downlights usually have a fixed beam direction, while ceiling spotlight fittings can be moved to change the direction of the light.

Both offer a contemporary lighting solution for almost any space, including bathrooms, a hallway, or office.
