Sports Hall lighting upgrade for Disability Sport Yorkshire

The main sports hall at Denhale Active Recreation Centre in Wakefield has always been used by a wide variety of the local community, but the current lighting was insufficient and needed to address the problem of growing energy costs. To add to this, the type of lighting couldn’t just be bought off the shelf. Fortunately, the charity recently received a grant for these refurbishments, and with the combined help of local electrical contractor ElectricBlu Contractorsand the Wakefield branch of YESSS Electrical, a lighting solution was devised.

More local help was sought when YESSS Wakefield put ElectricBlu in contact with lighting manufacturer Powerlite, who customised some of their own LED lighting specially for the scheme. All delivered on time by YESSS.

The sports hall’s previously washed out, dull and lifeless appearance was replaced with a new crisp brightness, with a huge 40% energy cost saving for Disability Sport Yorkshire. All thanks to the new Powerlite LED Lowbay lights installed, with very minimal downtime affecting the charity’s day-to-day activities.
