FAQs

What features should I consider when choosing an LED PIR floodlight?

Beam angle

We supply a variety of beam angles to choose from when selecting your floodlight, including 105° and 180°. For example, a beam angle of 180° spreads the light across a wider area, while a beam angle of 105° provides narrow and more focused light output. Generally, the wider the beam angle, the fewer the number of fittings you will require per area.

Colour temperature

Colour temperature is measured in Kelvins (K). The higher the number of Kelvins, the cooler the colour temperature. For instance, 3000K is a warm white typically used in home living areas, while 5000K and above is a cool white that is found in modern spaces or areas which require a higher level of productivity.

IP rating

Many of our LED PIR floodlights are IP65-rated, providing effective protection against rainwater and other adverse weather conditions. Outdoor lighting with an IP rating of IP65 provides peace of mind that your floodlights will operate safely and effectively in outdoor conditions.

What are the benefits of LED floodlights?

Security

Outdoor PIR floodlights are activated by an in-built sensor that detects motion, making them the perfect security addition to your property. Their bright and wide beam of light illuminates paths and stairways for easy navigation in the dark.

Durable & long-lasting

LED lights are bright and flicker-free, making them ideal for powerful illumination across fields, pitches and car parks. They can withstand harsh weather conditions and their LED technology means they last for thousands of hours, reducing the need for replacements.

Energy efficient

LED lights are highly energy efficient, providing bright light with significantly less power consumption than traditional bulbs. They are ideal for those looking for lighting without the high energy costs, making them ideal for upgrading or replacing fluorescent lighting for long-term cost and energy savings.

How does a PIR sensor work?

A passive infrared (PIR) sensor works by detecting changes in infrared radiation emitted by objects within its field of view. When it detects heat energy such as a warm body or animal in the surrounding environment, the PIR sensor triggers a response, such as turning on a light.
